How to Install Blender on Windows — Step by Step
- Click Download Blender 5.1 for Windows above
- Wait for the .exe installer to download (≈245 MB)
- Open the installer from your Downloads folder

- HIP — AMD Radeon RX 5000 series and newer
- oneAPI — Intel Arc GPUs
- Metal — not available on Windows (macOS only)

Common Windows Installation Issues
Windows blocked the installer ("Windows protected your PC")
Click "More info" then "Run anyway". This is a standard Windows SmartScreen warning for software that isn't from the Microsoft Store. Blender is completely safe — it's open source software trusted by millions.
Blender crashes on startup on Windows
Usually caused by an outdated GPU driver. Update your NVIDIA or AMD drivers to the latest version, then relaunch Blender.
Blender is slow on Windows
Make sure GPU rendering is enabled in Preferences → System. CPU-only rendering is much slower for complex scenes.
